Connor Byam ’25 was named Vermont High School Journalist of the Year by the New England Scholastic Press Association (NESPA) on Sunday.
Byam, co-editor-in-chief of The Register, now advances to the national Journalist of the Year competition, with a winner to be announced in April at the Journalism Education Association’s convention in Seattle.
In addition, Byam was selected for NESPA’s inaugural All New England High School Journalism Staff, recognizing top student journalists across the region. He was the only Vermont honoree.
Byam earned the honors by submitting a portfolio of his work, a journalism resume, and a reflective essay.
