The BHS Register staff earned multiple honors in this year’s All-New England awards from the New England Scholastic Press Association (NESPA), announced today.
The Register was named Runner-Up for All-New England Best High School Newspaper, placing it among the top student newspapers in the region.
Staff members received several first-place awards across writing, design and multimedia categories.
Jessie Tornabe earned two first-place honors, winning Feature Story for “When Hunger Meets the Lunch Line” and Newspaper Front Page Design for “The Algorithm Will See You Now.”
Sophia Dengler received three first-place awards for News Story Design (“Gaming the Grades”), Opinion Page Design (“Cosplaying the Patriarchy”) and Newspaper Artwork (“The Algorithm Will See You Now”).
Siena DeMink earned 1st Place in Infographic Design for “End of a Streak” and also placed 2nd in News Story for the same piece.
Miranda Brown and the full Register staff received 2nd Place for Online Video for “Here Comes the Sun.”
