Where are you from and why did you choose to work at BHS?
“I grew up in Essex Junction. I have been working with Middle School students previously but wanted to switch to high school. I was excited to be at BHS because I live in Burlington, and my son will be a Burlington student.”
What inspired you to become a special educator- what’s your favorite thing about it?
“I like to be able to have fewer students that I work with so that I can have more time and opportunities to support them.”
What’s your favorite part about interacting with students?
“Students are much more fun to be with than adults.”
What was one of your favorite subjects in high school?
“One of my favorite subjects in high school was English, specifically a course called Vermont Writers.”
What surprised you most about working at BHS?
“I was surprised when I found out Block 1 doesn’t start until 9am – but excited for the students.”
What hobbies do you enjoy outside of school?
“I enjoy spending time outside of school with my two year old son. We like to take walks, go to the waterfront, play with cars and visit friends and family. I also like board games, reading, and going to live music.”
If you could go anywhere in the world- where would you go?
“Next on my list to visit is Nova Scotia.”
What’s something about yourself you think people would find surprising?
“I think that people would be surprised to know I saved someone who was choking.”
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
“A superpower that I would want is teleportation.”
