In late January, Riko’s Pizza, a restaurant specializing in extremely thin-crust pizza, opened on Church Street. The restaurant quickly gained a popular reputation among pizza enthusiasts.
We first heard about Riko’s Pizza from Dave Portnoy, a viral social media pizza reviewer. Dave is known for his harsh reviews and his classic “one bite” rule.
“Rikos deserves more love,” Portnoy said. “Honestly, I may have just changed Rikos’ whole life. 8.2/10.”
This score is one of the highest scores Portnoy has ever given out.
“Rikos, it’s pretty good,” Portnoy said in his review. “The pizza is paper-thin, zero flop, and it’s firm as can be. A little greasy at first glance, but it doesn’t necessarily taste greasy. I’m fine with this being one of the top places in town.”
Before we tried it ourselves, we got interviews with other diners. All were extremely positive.
Jason Shrag, a Rikos enthusiast, enjoys the vibe.
“I’ve been coming here for a few months now, and every time the pizza’s just as good. It’s always a chill spot to hang out with friends,” Shrag said.
Megan Neely is a local.
“I’ve come here almost every week since it’s opened and the food is great and the atmosphere is awesome,” Neely said.
Two brothers from Maine shared a similar experience.
“Yeah, this is my first time here and I think the pizza is pretty good and the service is nice,” Griffin Downing said.
“Yeah I agree with that,” Elliot Downing said.
Our Review of Riko’s cheese pizza
The cheese pizza came with six slices for a total of $12. The crust was thin and slightly crispy, with a decent amount of cheese that had a nice melt. However, the slices were on the smaller side, so it didn’t feel as filling as expected. The flavor was good, but nothing outstanding – just a simple, classic cheese pizza. Overall I give the pizza a 9.2/10.

Our Review of Riko’s Buffalo Wings
They came with 6 wings for $10.49. I got the tasty buffalo flavor, with a good balance of heat and tangy taste. They seemed like they were baked instead of fried, so they were not as crispy, but still have a nice texture. The portion size is decent, but I found that I was still hungry and could still fit in a couple of slices of pizza after eating them. Overall I give the wings a 8.8/10.

Overall, Rikos has pretty solid food and a great atmosphere. It was a nice spot to enjoy a meal with friends or catch the big game on the many TVs they had. After our meal, we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the good atmosphere of the restaurant and taking full advantage of our free-refills. We give this spot a 9/10 – definitely go check it out.
