Interim Principal Sabrina Westdijk was unanimously voted to fill the permanent BHS principal position at last Tuesday night’s School Board meeting.
Principal Westdijk was the interim principal for the 23-24 school year, filling the absence of former BHS principal Deb Beaupre. In her year as interim principal, Westdijk instituted a new cell phone policy and a new attendance policy. Prior to working at BHS, Westidijk was the principal of Edmunds Middle School where she did many of these same things in an attempt to ease the transition from middle to high school.
In an email sent out to students and families on Wednesday, Superintendent Flanigan voiced his congratulations and appreciation for Principal Westdijk.
“I believe Principal Westdijk is doing an excellent job and is the right person to lead our school in the future,” Flanigan wrote.
For BHS students and families, this means that Ms. Westdijk will continue leading BHS for the remainder of the time at Macy’s and will lead the transition into the new school on Institute Road.
