Burlington: Sunny Nguyen 1 Goal, 1 Assist. Fabrice Kerozene 1G. Quinn Sessions 1A. Liam Hand 5 saves.
Essex: Jackson Willetts 9 saves.
The Burlington Boys Varsity team headed out to Buck Hard Field Wednesday (10/4) to face the Essex Hornets.
The Seahorses were hoping to extend their winning streak after a big 6-0 win over Mount Anthony, while Essex was looking for their third win in a row.
Essex goalkeeper Cameron Stultz ‘25 was out with a shoulder injury, but their back-up goalie Jackson Willetts ‘27 stepped up with 9 saves against Burlington’s aggressive offense.
Burlington’s Head Coach Mukhtar was overall quite satisfied with the game, but noted places where BHS could improve, giving the game a 6.5/10.
“The last couple days we’ve been working on keeping the ball, drawing them inside and then hitting them fast,” said Mukhtar. “And we did that amazing today. They listened.”
Mukhtar singled out Quinn Sessions ‘25 as the player of the game.
“He was doing all the dirty work,” Mukhtar said. “Coming inside, holding the ball, letting everybody [else] up”.
The Seahorses face St. Johnsbury this Saturday 10/7 at 7pm.
