What inspired you to become a teacher/job- what’s your favorite thing about it?
“I love reading and writing, so I wanted to have a job that involves both! I love getting to talk to students about books and big ideas on a daily basis.”
What’s your favorite part about interacting with students?
“Teenagers are hilarious. I love seeing them grow during their time in high school.”
What was one of your favorite subjects in high school?
“Honestly, I didn’t really like school when I was younger; it’s ironic I became a teacher. I’ll say my favorite subject was English because I’ve always loved reading.”
What’s your favorite weird food combo?
“I’m pretty boring when it comes to food, but I’ve heard peanut butter and pickles is a good combo. Maybe I’ll try that one day…”
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
“I’d want to live forever! Or at least know what happens after death.”
What inspired you to become a coach, and how did you get started in this profession?
“I love running and wanted to share that with young athletes. My goal is to create a positive experience for young cross country and track athletes so they can develop a life-long love of running.”
What is your proudest moment as a coach so far?
“I’m always proud when people run fast and win or place well at big races like states.”
How has coaching impacted you personally? Have you learned lessons from your athletes that have shaped you as a person?
“It’s inspiring to see athletes’ hard work pay off when they run personal best times and/or win races. Their love and commitment to the sport makes me excited to chase my own goals.”
